How did you decide on the name for your website?
My website name is my online alias - InspireMari - because it's first and foremost a personal website. The name 'InspireMari' is simply a combination of the first part of my real name and the word 'inspire', because I hope to inspire people with the content that I create. 😀
I decided to go for a .nl address rather than a .com address because I liked the idea of showing my Dutch identity in the domain name, even though I've always ran my website in English. I do occasionally mention stuff related to the Netherlands and I've made a few blog posts about interesting aspects of my home country, both for myself as a sort of diary and to share with anyone interested in the Netherlands. ^_^
I chose my website domain (luvstarkei.com) to be my online alias too! In Austin Kleon's book "Show Your Work!" he talks about websites being your "turf on the internet," and the ultimate culmination of your life's work. Cause of that, I thought it'd only be fitting for my website name to be a direct representation of me :3

My website name is also (one of) my online alias(es)! I came up with it randomly one day and decided that it would make a really nice username. Around this time I had also been considering making a website, so those two things clicked together and I made it my website name. I guess it's also kinda symbolic of how on my website I talk about a lot of random things. It also includes my online name (Z) which I think is nice.
You know how in cartoons, sometimes characters will huddle together to whisper to one another about something?

though a more detailed answer: as much as i love the online name thelingeringartist, I understand that its not quite the easiest thing to write or remember. Ive had various experiences of people miswriting or misreading it... And i also felt that this name did not fit my OCs as a collective. If I wanted my OC website to be an extension of myself, I'd much rather it have its own name. It deserved to have its own name, to me. I sorta see it as giving a portion of my head its own home with glass walls, if that even makes sense. It just has to be described as something more specific! Identified!
Originally it was just gonna be called something far more basic, but I went with THE HUDDLE because to me, all my ocs and art are like one big get-together and almost like a whispering group of people in my head when I think of them. Like an endless game of Telephone, or maybe even a stampede! So I thought that the name would be fitting and lots easier to go by.
As for allaboutross...I think at some point I'll probably rename it, but i dunno! my name is ross. I like ross as a name 🙂 i think it focuses more on me and is straight to the point.. which i struggle being sometimes... how symbolic!
Maybe there will be a point in the future once i get ahold of my own domain that THE HUDDLE will change, or become something else, but for now im content with it :p thats just how this artist lingers.. or whatever !

My primary website, like many of y'all, is also named after my current online alias (I've had a couple so far, not counting inconsistent spellings and whatnot). I first started working on my website using WordPress way back in 2019, as it was originally used for a semester-long project for a journalism class I took during my undergrad program. Over time, it started to evolve from just a place where I wrote about the news and such to it being the new home for my Let's Plays. I have well over 1,000 pages from both "pages" and "posts" that I've made.
My website design is a faint echo of what I really want it to look like: the classic YouTube channel layout from pre-Google acquisition (see attached). How WordPress handles web development is also something that I've only recently really started to have an issue with as my site has continued to grow in size. Heck. It's so large that plugins like Simply Static and similar export-to-html don't seem to work. I'm currently torn between:
1.) just manually copying and pasting the HTML of every single blog post into offline text documents and then recreating the site on NeoCities (which I would then need to reupload the video files to another hosting service for the few dozen series I uploaded straight to WordPress and redo all of these embedded videos' code for every post)
2.) I go to Fiverr to talk to a WordPress theme-maker-person about just straight up making the theme I want for some amount of money
3.) Make my desired website on NeoCities and rework the original WordPress.com website to become the "archive site" or whatever

I am not so creative, I named my website just after my online alias which is my favorite animal with an A attached to sound like my favorite drink ( tea )

i've been going as wolfkitty42 since my animal jam days, it wuz inevitable! :3
When I was thinking about how to call my website, I wanted it to talk about me and what you could find on the site. So I decided to combine the two things I like the most and what would later shape my web: vampires and technology!! So we have Cyber and fangz (with a z because it's cooler :p). Also, it makes me think of a bat made of wires and metal, and that is so me!!
I'm unsure. I suppose that i just wanted something sort of edgy but not edgy if that makes sense. I suppose because there's always a lot going on in my brain and its partially a brain dump, i chose the name ¨Personal Hell¨ (The name is InfiernoPersonal - spanish translation)
My dad originally created my Moshi Monsters account with the name Didipidi2006, but I’ve since shortened it to just Didipidi. The name is a combination of two nicknames that my family has always called me. 😀
I bought the domain, Mintiness.org several years ago with the intent to make something cute with it. I just never got around to it. For awhile, it was a lolita fashion blog, but I don't wear the fashion as often anymore and didn't bother with updating it after a time. When I stumbled upon the indie web / web 1.0 this community, I thought it would be a good place to start making a little personal / pixel / art website in spirit of the way I remember doing things in the early 2000's.
Seriously, when I saw people using Me, You, Site I got all excited because I have FOLDERS upon FOLDERS of old websites, layouts and everything from those days. <3
So anyway, I decided on the name because it was cute. :3
