“While Sonic gijinka designs are familiar, the excitement of bringing my unique ideas to life was palpable. When I shared my concept with Tauraffelle, who was equally intrigued, we eagerly dove into this creative collaboration, especially with the highly anticipated Sonic Movie 3 right around the corner. Our joint efforts, guided by the Sonic Channel Profiles, ensured our profiles were consistent yet distinct, maintaining a strong connection to the original series.
As for the design, we gave her darker skin and dreadlocks because those features fit the character and are common for many humanized Knuckles designs. Like Tails, I wanted to incorporate some upgrades from the games, so gijinka Knuckles was given the shovel claws and air necklace from the Adventure games. The sunglasses from SA2 were considered, but we decided to keep her head free for future art. These design choices were made to enhance the character’s visual appeal and maintain a connection to the original series.
The top was originally red, but that blended with the hair, so Taureffelle changed the top to white and made the pants red. A crop top was used to show off the six-pack. Gold beads were placed in the hair because Taureffelle liked the way those looked and they complimented the yellow of the foot guards. Speaking of which, the foot guards were added to further accentuate the character’s formidable fighting prowess.
The character description is kept fairly close to the official Profile, but I added the Sonic 3 & Knuckles bit because it is a great example of her raw power.”
