Here’s what I use, pretty much all Free & Open Source (FOSS).
Engine: Godot
Source control: Git (via CLI) & Github
IDE: Neovim
2D Art: Aseprite & GIMP
3D Art: Blender
Recording: Audacity
DAW: ArdourAnd yes, aseprite is free; due to its open source nature, you can simply compile it from source rather than buying it outright. I’ve paid for it to support its development, but the option to use it for free is totally there.

Name: Fireye
Occupation: Student & Software Engineer
Fav tabletop game: I just got my copy of slugblaster in the mail & I’m obsessed <3
How many: A lot, haven’t counted, but I got like 3 of em last week ehehe
What kinds of tabletop games do you play: I do play board games but I’m mostly into GMing, and designing Tabletop RPGs. Specifically the ones focused on roleplay & storytelling rather than combat.November 25, 2024 at 7:57 pm #2512FireyeParticipantI’m down to do a game jam at some point; got finals soon so I’ll be busy as hell for the next few weeks but I’ll open up shortly thereafter and we can coordinate :3
In terms of larger, long term projects, I’m more of a solo dev these days, as I’ve had a few pretty negative experiences in trying to work with people that I don’t know well on long form projects. If y’all want to use the group to organize projects in that vein I’d love to help facilitate that but at will not participate, at least for now.
Personally I’d love to have the group as a place to share progress on personal projects to keep me motivated on making gradual progress day-to-day 🙂
