Hopefully, this extent of censoring is enough to upload the pic on the site xD So, I was going through some works of one of my fav artists Madness Malina and I got really inspired by her style, so I wanted to implement some of the techniques she uses because it just looks so good! First, I LOVE the use of hatching in her pieces! It really adds to the expressiveness. It’s a good way to save some time, making the color shading a lot simpler, but the final pieces still look finished. I used hatching a lot several years ago when I used to draw traditionally. However, whenever I tried doing that digitally, it was always such a mess, so I kinda stepped out of it. It was nice going back to it tho! For some reason, this time it wasn’t such a hassle. Something else I love about her style is how she adds these colored lines framing the characters, so to speak. It really helps convey the shape when things are shaded, for example. And overall just looks great in my opinion. I also love how sometimes Madness Malina adds these shiny highlights in her works. I felt like adding those to my golden angel was just the right thing to do, so I did. I was always bad at drawing these things, but I think I figured it out this time. I really love how the end result looks, so I’m definitely gonna keep these style changes moving forward 4
Most recent commission I drew :3 I really love how it turned out, honestly. The task was to have back light and have the character’s silhouette be visible thanks to that light. It’s my first attempt to drawing such a thing, so it was very exciting drawing this piece! Also, it wasn’t my initial intention, but I love how it turned out to be a foggy morning. You can almost feel the chilling air 7
Well, well, well. What do we have here? Looks suspeciously familiar. Can’t seem to understand what this reminds me of.🤔 Looks like some Christmas fanart gift or something xD 9
Captain Henson:“While Sonic gijinka designs are familiar, the thrill of bringing my unique ideas to life was palpable. When I shared my concept with Tauraffelle, who was equally intrigued, we eagerly dove into this creative collaboration, especially with the highly anticipated Sonic Movie 3 right around the corner. We used the Sonic Channel Profiles for the pose, layout, and descriptions to maintain a connection to the original series, ensuring our profiles were consistent yet distinct. Taureffelle took the lead, once again, on the design process. My only contribution was including the Shadow ‘05 logo on her jacket to visually represent the game. This logo, which is a key element in the game, serves as a visual cue to the character’s origins and adds a layer of authenticity to the design. Taureffelle decided to give gijinka Shadow a leather jacket because of the game’s incarnation of riding a bike, and it simply has a badass look. The fur around the collar represents the chest from the official design. Initially, she wanted leather pants but didn’t like how they looked, so she stuck with regular black jeans. The tanned skin came from the tanned skin of the official design, most apparent in Yuji Uekawa’s art. he character description was a challenging aspect of our project. I was eager to delve into more detail about Shadow’s development throughout the series, but the problem was the length, which was too long for the profile. Shadow is a complex character that has developed throughout many games. I had to make some tough decisions, including cutting out a paragraph that initially went after the second. “For a time, her past was a relentless force, dictating her every move and shaping her future. From the unfulfilled wishes to the burning desire to unravel the enigma of her creation, she was a prisoner of her own history. But she didn’t succumb to it. Now, she’s the master of her own fate, unwavering in pursuing her goals.” As much as I enjoyed referencing Shadow ‘05 in greater detail, I had to shorten the character description, so I took the final sentence and placed it at the end of the first paragraph. The reference is still there, but now much quicker to the point. At least the name-dropping of “Chaos Control” and “Chaos Blast” keeps the overt ‘05 reference I wanted. The official Profile only name drops Chaos Control, so adding another chaos ability expanded Shadow’s capabilities without taking too much space.” 6

We used the Sonic Channel Profiles for the pose, layout, and descriptions to maintain a connection to the original series, ensuring our profiles were consistent yet distinct. As for the design, Tauraffelle took the lead in making almost every decision. All I asked was for the warrior feather from SA1 to be added. This was a deliberate choice to further connect our design to the games, as the feather is a cool addition to Amy’s wardrobe. This inclusion led to removing the headband as Taureffelle saw another head accessory as redundant. I contemplated adding the long hammer but figured keeping the iconic Piko Piko Hammer made more sense. Tauraffelle, with her keen eye for detail, wanted to play into Amy’s acrobatic skills, so she tried to find sports clothes that fit the official design, eventually choosing a tennis outfit for a girly and sporty look. Footwear is the most striking departure from the official design compared to previous characters. While Sonic and Knuckles were each given footguards, per my request, the aesthetic stayed within the shoes of the games. Tauraffelle’s innovative idea was to give Amy stirrups (standard for gymnasts to wear) and legwarmers (fit the character and help keep leg muscles warm), while the toe rings were added to complement the bracelets and as another girly element, adding a unique twist to the character’s design. Once again, the description is similar to the official profile, but now, with the addition of her strong loyalty to friends.” 2
